| 11 | Trotzdem hat die Frau mit einem anderen Mann geschlafen. | Yet the woman has slept with another man. |
| 12 | Sie hat die Ehe gebrochen. | She has committed adultery. |
| 13 | Sie ist eine Ehebrecherin. | She is an adulteress. |
| 14 | Die Frau muss bestraft werden. | The woman must be punished. |
| 15 | Die Frau muss gesteinigt werden. | The woman must be stoned. |

| 17 | Sollen wir die Frau jetzt steinigen?“ | Shall we now stone the woman?” |
| 18 | Sie wollten Jesus eine Falle stellen. | They wanted to trap Jesus. |
| 19 | Sie wollten Jesus anklagen. | They wanted to accuse Jesus. |
| 20 | Jesus gab keine Antwort. | Jesus gave no answer. |
| 21 | Er bückte sich nur. | He only bent down. |
| 22 | Er schrieb mit dem Finger auf die Erde. | He wrote on the ground with his finger. |
| 23 | Alle Leute warteten gespannt. | All the people waited eagerly. |
| 24 | Aber Jesus sagte immer noch nichts. | But Jesus still did not say anything. |
| 25 | Jesus schrieb immer noch mit dem Finger auf die Erde. | He kept writing with his finger on the ground. |

| 32 | Jesus bückte sich wieder. | Jesus bent down again. |
| 33 | Und schrieb auf die Erde. | And wrote on the ground. |
| 34 | Als sie das hörten, | When they heard this, |
| 35 | ging einer nach dem anderen fort. | one after the other went away. |
| 36 | Die Älteren gingen zuerst. | The older ones went first. |
| 37 | Jesus blieb allein zurück mit der Frau. | Jesus was left alone with the woman. |
| 38 | Jesus richtete sich wieder auf. | Jesus straightened up again. |
| 39 | Er fragte die Frau: | He asked the woman: |
| 40 | „Frau, wo sind sie? | “Woman, where are they? |
| 41 | Sind alle Leute gegangen? | Have all the people gone? |
| 42 | Hat dich keiner verurteilt?“ | Has no one condemned you?” |
| 43 | Die Frau sagte: | The woman said: |
| 44 | „Alle sind weggegangen. | “All have gone. |
| 45 | Keiner hat einen Stein geworfen.“ | Nobody has thrown a stone.” |
| 46 | Jesus sagte zu der Frau: | Jesus said to the woman: |
| 47 | „Ich werfe auch keinen Stein. | “I won’t throw a stone either. |
| 48 | Geh nach Hause. | Go home. |
| 49 | Tu von jetzt an nichts Verbotenes mehr.“ | From now on, don’t do forbidden things any more.” |
